What happened to Thanksgiving?

Ok, with two of my children working, you would think I'd have bukkos of extra cash lying around, but I'm afraid my youngest, who literally has no time for a job, picks up that slack quite nicely.  So, when my sweet mother gave me a little extra money for taking her grocery shopping I was like a kid from 20 years ago who had just got a dollar & couldn't wait to spend it!

So, I'm one of those who has to think about how I'm gonna spend it.  It wasn't so much, so it had to be spent wisely.  Well, we just moved into a brand new house about a year ago and the walls could use some nice decor.  So, I went to Kirkland's, which just opened in Odessa.  As I walked in I was bombarded with Christmas decorations!  As I turned the corner, there were some halloween decor and just a little further down were the Thanksgiving decor, but not as much as there was Christmas!  Of course, as I walk around I see so many cool things I could get.  Cool looking owls with fall colors, owl chair covers, owl table runners, ceramic owls...maybe I could set up my table?  Some fall wreathes, a few other fall items.

But, I was overwhelmed with with all the Christmas decor.  So many framed pictures of Santa Claus, Christmas wreaths, reds and greens everywhere.  In fact, as I kept looking around, I became disappointed.  I thought, 'Oh, wow, I guess I am too late for Thanksgiving, heavy sigh.'  Needless to say I left Kirkland's because I couldn't find just one thing that would work in my home, without buying many things to go together and like many people I try very hard to stick to my budget.  And, after all, it was too late to get thanksgiving decor.

So, as I'm driving to Ross (surely, I'll find something there) I begin to realize, 'Waith a minute!  Halloween hasn't even arrived yet! I mean, it's still like two weeks away!'  I still have time to decorate for Thanksgiving if I hurry!'  So, I became excited, but the urgency to do it quick is still there, after all, time just keeps getting away from me!

So, what did I buy after all? A chair for my computer desk, as we've been using the ottoman, so the chair fit perfectly.   Well, thanksgiving is still a month away...hmmm, guess I could go into the attic & start attacking those boxes.  But, which one has thanksgiving & fall stuff?

"What I mean, brothers, is that the time is short.  From now on those who have wives should live as if they had none; those who mourn, as if they did not; those who are happy, as if they were not; those who buy something, as if it were not theirs to keep; those who use the things of the world, as if not engrossed in them.  For this world in its present form is passing away."  1 Corinthians 7:29-31

  1. The last time I was cleaning out the garage, Lynn asked me to pull out the Thanksgiving tub, which I did and continued with my task. By the time I was finished, I came back to the house to find it decorated with a table cover and centerpiece, a few other things, and our stair guardrail covered with a wreath? of brown, red, and orange leaves. It looks nice. As you walk in, immediately on the right, there is a little stand with the baby's dog stuff and it;s got a little cover with a huge skull candy bowl. No candies, yet, in it.
